The Dreyfus Lion Account is offered by Dreyfus Brokerage Services, a division of MBSC Securities Corporation ("MBSC Securities"), a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). Dreyfus Lion Accounts are introduced to Pershing LLC, a subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (Pershing) by MBSC Securities.
Securities held in custody by Pershing for your account are protected against possible loss from firm failure. The account protection applies when a SIPC member firm fails financially and is unable to meet obligations to securities customers, but it does not protect against losses arising from market volatility. SIPC provides an initial $500,000 of coverage, including $250,000 for claims for cash. The remaining coverage, on securities only, is provided by Pershing through a commercial insurer. More information about SIPC protection, including the SIPC brochure, may be obtained from their web site (www.sipc.org) or by calling SIPC at 202-371-8300.
